The Rooms

The Real Marina Hotel & Spa offers guests 144 rooms and suites. When it comes to room offerings, there are several to choose from: from the double room with a sea view to the suite, home to two bathrooms and balconies. I personally had the opportunity to stay in the Double Room with a Sea View.

The decor is light, fresh, and airy. The rooms are spacious, as are the bathrooms. Amenities include things like a mini-bar, Nespresso coffee machine, flatscreen TV, and free toiletries. A perk? The beds are incredibly comfy. Let’s not forget about the incredible balcony views.

👎🏻 One minor area for improvement relates to the upkeep of the rooms, which are beginning to show natural signs of wear and tear. During my stay, I noticed minor imperfections, such as a patch of peeling wallpaper and a few slight cracks in the bathroom marble.

The hotel also offers 80 apartment-style accommodations at the Real Marina Residence, located right next to the hotel. These are pet-friendly apartments that also offer sea views but are best for larger groups or anyone wanting to stay for an extended period of time.

The Real Marina Hotel has some of the best seafood in the area. The hotel is home to two restaurants. For snacks or a beautiful outdoor lunch overlooking the Ria Formosa, the Ria Restaurant Bar is the perfect choice.

However, your dining journey begins and ends at the Real Restaurant. Starting the day with their extensive continental breakfast is a delight. It’s an eclectic smorgasbord of freshness and local flavors, with options ranging from fruits, a variety of eggs, and fluffy pancakes, to Portugal’s beloved pastel de nata. For those who savor a touch of luxury in the mornings, the restaurant also caters to your champagne breakfast desires.

Then for dinner, enjoy some of the freshest seafood you’ll ever taste. The restaurant serves classics like amêijoas à Bulhão Pato (steamed clams in a dressing of garlic, olive oil, coriander, lemon, and white wine) and cataplana, a traditional Portuguese stew from the Algarve.
