To get to Albufeira from Lisbon, you can either drive, take a bus, or catch a train.

Looking to do a couple of day trips from Algarve Albufeira? One option is to take the train from Albufeira-Ferreiras train station.

The trip is about two and a half hours if you drive yourself. You can also book this as a private transfer. There is a non-stop bus from Lisbon to Albufeira with Rede Expressos, which takes about two hours and 45 minutes.

The train, run by CP, takes about two and a half hours, but the train station (Albufeira-Ferreiras) is on the edge of town, so you’ll need to grab an Uber, taxi, or bus to get to the central parts of the city.

Old Town is one of the nicest parts of Albufeira. Keep in mind that central Albufeira is not a huge place. It was, after all, just a sleepy fishing village before tourism grew into the resort city it is today.

That being said, the beaches around the town do sprawl outward quite a bit. To the east, the area around Praia dos Aveiros is also a very nice part of Portugal Albufeira.
